Based on a blend of about fifty crus; the same approach to blending as that of the Brut Cuvee, with the addition of a proportion of red Champagne wine, which gives this wine not only a style typical of Piper-Heidsieck but also a distinctive colour and fruity taste. This wine is deep scarlet red in colour. On the nose, there are aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant and strawberry. On the palate, there are notes of ripe orange with hints of saffron and a lively acidity. It is well-balanced with a long, smokey finish.
